The role
Biofidelity is seeking an experienced Histology Technician/Histology Technologist to support our high-complexity CLIA/CAP laboratory testing. The ideal candidate has good histological skills, is collaborative, trustworthy with ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role reports to the VP of Clinical Operations and Clinical Laboratory Director.
Key responsibilities:
Accurately prepare slides for diagnostic or research purposes
Ensure all human tissues are cut, embedded and processed according to specific protocols
Perform routine histologic techniques such as H&E staining, immunohistochemistry on tissue
Maintain and update associated process documentation, participate in continuous process improvements and ongoing training
Perform equipment maintenance checks on a regular basis or as required by regulations
Understand and adhere to appropriate quality control procedures and regulations including health and safety guidelines
Seek to continually improve operations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Knowledgeable in the areas of pathology, management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histotechnology
Working knowledge of histology functions
Experience with routine histology procedures and equipment
Ability to work individually with minimal supervision, as well as a part of the team
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor degree in a science subject
Previous experience working in a CLIA/CAP certified laboratory
HT (ASCP) or HTL (ASCP) certification required
