SENIOR BIM TECHNICAL SPECIALIST Building Information Modelling Technical Lead

In this vital senior role you will be responsible for the implementation, advancement and sustainment of the Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools and capabilities with emphasis on capabilities expansion and standardization across the network. This role will work out of our corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA or other Amgen locations within the US Territory.

The position will be part of the Engineering Technical Authority (ETA) department with a focus on implementation and advancement of digital tools across the network. This role is a member of our Site Engineering Services Team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advance BIM concepts and technology across the network improving efficiency and collaboration during capital projects execution and facility management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure reliable and centralize data management tools are used throughout the capital project execution
  • Responsible for the onboarding of new digital tools and sustainment of existing ones according to IS requirements (Business Process Owner)
  • Serve as administrator of BIM Data Base and software across the network
  • Owner of program documentation as standards, templates, models and collaboration forums
  • Develop and/or update strategic implementation plans for BIM Dimensions and training according to Amgen digital long-term goals
  • Collaborate with Site and Global Engineering Teams, Process Development, Manufacturing and Information Systems to advance the implementation of digital tools across the network
  • Develop and lead technical training sessions for BIM; EPD workflows and software such as Revit, BIM360 and Navisworks.
  • Facilitate the development of standard processes and implementation of BIM practices within the asset lifecycle data management
  • Work with capital project teams and external consultants to define the BIM Execution Strategy; facilitate the implementation of foundational tools, provide training and monitor progress against approved execution plan as the BIM Manager.
  • Validate 3D models and data integration comply with Amgen standards and requirements throughout the phases of the projects; ensure models and data structures are ready for transfer to operations.
  • Travel up to 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical depth and strong collaboration in a diverse culture are key differentiators for this role.
  • Extensive experience with 3D modelling and data management digital tools as Revit, BIM360, Autodesk Suite, others.
  • Proven experience in the implementation of Building Information Modelling programs or other digital tools
  • Proven experience working in a complex and regulated environment
  • Proven experience in the asset lifecycle phases and capital projects execution requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and partner in a complex and matrix organization
  • Experience in providing technical support to project teams in the use of 3D modelling tools and connected databases
  • Proven experience delivering and/or managing project scope with multiple deliverables and internal/external partners
  • Strong analytical skills to identify potential improvement opportunities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, relationship building, and leadership skills

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Engineering/Architectural OR
  • Masters degree in Engineering/Architectural and 3 years of engineering experience OR
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of engineering experience OR
  • Associates degree and 10 years engineering experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of engineering experience
