We are currently searching for a Program Specialist, Faculty Development to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).  This opportunity is a full-time position with MSC and it is on-site in Bethesda, Maryland. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and assess faculty professional development materials and resources.
  • Organize faculty professional development events
  • Identify, invite, and coordinate instructors for workshops and classes
  • Match mentors and professional development content with individual faculty needs
  • Develop and evaluate outreach activities to promote faculty recruitment
  • Develop and implement plans to track and optimize steps in the faculty hiring process
  • Assess faculty needs such by conducting interviews and surveys
  • Develop and track metrics of success for faculty professional and career progression
  • Collect, organize, and analyze program evaluation data
  • Manage Director of Faculty Development website

 

Requirements
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a STEM-related field required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of post-graduate biomedical or social/behavioral research experience.
  • Demonstrable commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion of underrepresented groups in the sciences.
  • Experience with all facets of planning, managing and executing events, from concept to post-event, including venue selection, agenda content development and program design, event identity and branding, communications plans, onsite plans, onsite execution, and evaluations.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in academic administration and/or teaching in a higher education setting preferred.
  • Experience with social media and/or website content development preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Adobe software.
