How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

We are excited to welcome a new Senior Associate Scientist to the Cell Therapy Process Development team. In this position, you can expect to work closely with current scientists, associate scientists, and process engineers in the group to operate key instrumentation and execute our T cell engineering process. We are responsible for the process development, characterization, and optimization of Intellia’s growing portfolio of ex vivo cell therapy products.

In this position you will support and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of a functionally closed-system manufacturing processes of genetically modified T cells for the treatment of cancer.  You will be responsible to design, execute and communicate results of experiments to develop a reproducible cell therapy manufacturing process. Duties will include large-scale enrichment of T cells, small- and large-scale T cell culture, performance of basic immunological assays, as well as include formulation of buffers and culture media, management of lab materials, critical reagents, and drug substances.

About You:

• A driven, self-starter who works well in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or equivalent with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience

• Hands on experience with engineered cell therapies, specifically TCR or CAR-T preferred

• Demonstrable experience with cell therapy unit operations, including CliniMACS, LOVO and Xuri is a plus

• Broad experience in bioanalytical techniques including analysis of cells and biomolecules, including cell viability and flow cytometry

• Familiar with immunology and concepts concerning T cell function and differentiation

• Strong writing skills with experience in writing SOPs and technical reports

• Ability to communicate effectively and thrive in a team with time-critical objectives 

Meet your future team:

The Cell Therapy Process Development team is a rapidly growing group of six motivated scientists and engineers. We work in collaboration with our colleagues in research, analytical development, and other process development groups. We meet regularly to discuss data and share scientific discoveries and literature. In our group discussions everyone is encouraged to ask questions and share their insights into the process. We also get team lunches and have virtual happy hours or outings to relax after work. You will report to a Senior Scientist and work closely with other Associate Scientists, Process Engineers, and Research Associates.
