Summary Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Director/ Sr. Director, Employee Relations located at our Brisbane office.  This role will be a critical member of our newly created employee relations group for the evolving and expanding HR function in a fast-paced company.  The individual will provide single point of contact for efficiently providing expert employee relations management and strategic plans, through proactive, anticipatory, and reactive relations strategy, solutions and guidelines to the company’s operating leadership in US and Basel.  Also, play an active role in ensuring the company capitalizes on opportunities to improve productivity, employee engagement and business results through planning and implementing appropriate employee relations framework and practices.  This position reports to the Sr. Vice President of Human Resources.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert level guidance and advice to HRBPs, functional leaders, and people managers on a wide variety of employee relations issues, policies, procedures and workplace investigations to create and sustain positive employee relations. 
  • Lead workplace investigations in collaboration with HR, Legal and Compliance as appropriate, making actionable recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to HRBPs and coaching to managers regarding performance management, conduct concerns, leave of absence requests and accommodation requests.
  • Identify, research and analyze specific employee relations concerns, conduct interviews, review data, draft reports and make appropriate recommendations to the business and Legal on outcomes.
  • Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting based on business needs, highlighting key trends in employee relations to actively drive proactive solutions to minimize reactive work and increase employee engagement. 
  • Create and deliver ER training to a variety of audiences in the business.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to jointly design solutions, balancing business, employee and legal needs.
  • In support of Legal and Compliance, and in collaboration with HR Operations, assist in responding to requests for information from internal clients and outside counsel, including assistance with electronic discovery needs.

 REQUIREMENTS (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial and Labor relations or related field
  • 12+years of in-depth employee relations experience or HRBP experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintains confidentiality
  • High level of EQ, compassion and the ability to remove (unconscious) biases throughout the investigation
  • A high level of ethics and integrity mindset.
  • Demonstrates empathy and experience driving inclusion work
