The purpose of the Director position is to have a scientific leader who is responsible for daily management of scientific and technical operation teams to successfully deliver external studies with scientific/technical excellence, to support company overall business development and growth, and to support company R&D activities.



  • Responsible for the management of daily operation of in vivo pharmacology scientists (study director, SD) as well as technical operation (TO) groups
  • Directly supervise scientists and technical team in execution of external/internal projects, and responsible for scientific and technical training programs
  • Assist scientists with trouble shooting and client communication
  • Develop and implement standard procedures within the scope of scientific and technical operation to continuously improve organizational efficiency
  • As the scientific and technical leader, participate in compliance management, animal health and regulatory aspects of scientific operations
  • Closely interact with the R/D leaders who are ultimately responsible for the science of the product lines
  • As part of the research team, participates in the company’s research program
  • Take on study director role for major accounts if needed, and be responsible for all duties involved in external studies assigned
  • Active client interaction and BD support, including but not limited to teleconferences and presentations to clients, hosting client visits
  • Collaborate closely with other departments and functions to support overall company tasks
  • Actively involved in scientific writing, including abstract/poster/ppt/manuscripts preparation, etc
  • Conduct work activities in compliance with all relevant regulations including ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, SOPs, and general business policies, requirements and objectives
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

  • PhD in Molecular and or Cell Biology
  • Molecular Biology and Cell Biology
  • Transgenic & Translational animal models
  • Small molecules and Biologics
  • In vitro and in vivo pharmacology
  • 10 plus years of working in pre-clinical pharma or biotech research in oncology or preferably, immune-oncology



  • Comfortable using computers, including an advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, e-mail, and internet
  • Exceptional organizational, time- management, and prioritization skills
  • Able to multi-task with a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy
  • Willing and able to work within a Quality System with oversight by QA and other regulatory bodies
  • Able to troubleshoot effectively and solve scientific problems with little to no supervision
  • Able to find, read, and understand relevant scientific literature
  • Willing and able to work under the pressure of deadlines and find solutions to meet timelines
  • Able to work across teams by being a flexible team player
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
