Senior Associate, External Medical Events

Global Medical Operations is looking for a motivated Senior Associate to join the highly collaborative Global Medical external medical events team, ensuring timely and high-quality support for global and US-local Congresses, Advisory Boards, and Medical Education events planning and execution. This exciting role involves many cross-functional touchpoints beyond Global Medical, such as Global Commercial, Advocacy, Competitive Intelligence, Global Learning & Performance, Compliance, Law, Global Customer Capabilities, Global Meeting Management, Corporate Affairs, and Research & Development.

  • Drive successful planning and operational execution of key medical congresses and advisory boards, accepting a continuous improvement mindset
  • Coordinate requirements for specific content for Congress, Advisory Board, and Medical Education events in direct partnership with Global Medical Communications, Global Medical Affairs teams, and Ex-US Medical Capabilities
  • Facilitate contracting
  • Ensure a customer service orientation in partnership with Legal, Compliance and Medical Leadership
  • Lead meeting management activities in coordination with Global Customer Capabilities (Congresses & Interactions) and/or Global Meeting Management
  • Coordinate complex partner interactions
  • Perform vendor management and oversight as applicable

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelors degree and 2 years of relevant experience

OR

Associates degree and 6 years of relevant l experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with large meeting logistics and management
  • Experience facilitating vendor contracts and contracts with HCPs
  • Knowledge of operations within global medical organizations
  • Strong understanding of principals of customer service as it applies to internal customers and external partners
  • Knowledge of relevant SOPs, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience in vendor management and oversight
  • Proficient in team/project leadership and/or project management of cross-functional assignments
  • Proficient facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team/matrix environment on multiple projects
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (eg, Powerpoint, Microsoft Teams, WebEx)
