Under the direction of Dr. Misha Zilberter, the postdoctoral scholar will work on dissecting the links between electrophysiological and metabolic function in the aging brain and their disruption during neurodegeneration. Specific focus within that context will be on elucidating the role of ApoE4 in Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis. The lab’s work spans multiple scales from molecular to single-cell to behavior and involves electrophysiology as well as functional imaging techniques.

Candidates should possess a PhD, MD, or both and have a strong background in neuroscience as well as an outstanding record of academic achievements and research productivity. Experience in slice electrophysiology (patch-clamp and field recording techniques, in-vivo) preferred; previous work with functional imaging (FRET for ATP, glucose, Ca2+), as well as with viral vectors and basic molecular biology techniques are also a plus.
