OPPORTUNITY
Mammoth Biosciences is seeking a software engineer with expertise and a keen eye on front-end development to join its Diagnostics team. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as the Software Engineer, Full-Stack will work in teams alongside data engineers, data scientists, bioinformatics scientists, and lab scientists to ensure all elements of software and web creation are consistent, functional, and useful.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building infrastructure, developing, and implementing computational tools essential to the development of the next-generation of CRISPR diagnostics. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and build web applications and software tools for lab scientists and other technical teams
  • Collaborate directly with lab scientists to gather requirements and feedback for internal tools development and refinement
  • Optimize web pages to maximize speed and scalability
  • Building reusable code for future use
  • Rigorously maintain records of tools developed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of software engineering experience
  • Experience with web application development (React, Redux, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience in responsive and adaptive design
  • Proficiency with Python, Django, Linux (Bash), SQL
  • Experience with Native AWS Services (RDS, EC2)
  • Experience in database schema design and data modeling
  • Understanding of key design principles and demonstrated ability to design useful and visually appealing web interfaces
  • Experience with frontend/backend testing, git, and CI/CD pipelines


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree
  • Understanding of Docker
  • Experience working in regulated environments and software validation
  • Experience working with Terraform (infrastructure as code)
  • Extended experience with AWS Services (EB, Batch, Lambda, Step functions, etc.)
  • Record of working collaboratively with scientists and engineers
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with graphic design applications such as Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to assist the computational team with improving and troubleshooting the internal tools
  • Demonstrated ability to promote usability best practices
