What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will apply and develop computational methods to advance drug discovery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for applying modeling and informatics techniques to impact and accelerate the drug discovery process.
  • Responsible for developing novel computational methods and as well as partnering with external collaborators.
  • Be adept at working in teams, and will initiate and drive partnerships with interdisciplinary groups within Amgen.
  • Represent the department on cross-functional teams, as well as growing your external scientific presence through presentations and publications.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Masters degree and 3 years of experience OR
  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience OR
  • Associates degree and 10 years of experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience
Preferred Qualfications:
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline plus relevant postdoctoral experience
  • Proficiency in Python or other programming languages
  • Experience with applying statistical tools and AI/ML techniques to large data sets
  • Familiarity with relevant protein modeling and protein design software packages (MOE, Schrodinger, Rosetta, etc.)
  • Experience with developing analysis methodologies and computational workflows for biologics such as antibodies and proteins is a plus
  • Desire to be part of a team to translate goals into action, prioritize a range of activities and projects, and forge productive cross-site collaborations with partner functions
  • Strong written and verbal communication
