ROLE SUMMARY

The position of the Operations Specialist will ensure the equipment and facility are safe and compliant within the CVx Inspection/Packaging/Freeze handling organization of PGM. In support of production activities, the incumbent will be accountable for coordination and documentation of maintenance work, of capital project support, and of other supporting groups. They will also be accountable to establish efficient processes, monitor for specific results, and improve process efficiency by using Right First Time (RFT), IMEx, and Lean principles. They will serve as technical subject matter expert (SME) for the work team on equipment related deviations, Method 1 evaluations, and validation/qualification activities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Is responsible for adhering to Pfizer standards, guidelines, and values

  • Maintain processing equipment at optimal operating efficiency

  • Assist in identifying problems and solutions using Method 1 and Quality Risk Management (QRM)

  • Influences teams and provides input to developing and modifying departmental standards and guidelines

  • Prioritizes own work flow and may lead and allocate work of others and assist in establishing their priorities

  • Has comprehensive and specialized knowledge and skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment needed for position

  • Uses judgment to determine which work methods and procedures are appropriate to varying and more complex situations for work group/team

  • Regularly adapts standard methods and procedures by applying breadth of knowledge, prior work experience and practical requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High school diploma / general education degree (GED) or an Associate’s Degree in technically related field of study preferred.

  • Experience: Four years related experience and/or training or a 4 year mechanical engineering degree.

  
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions.  Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours.  Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties.  Additional demands are area specific.

  • Language Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills required.  Demonstrated reading comprehension and writing proficiency at level that meets Job Summary requirements.  Ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals/groups resulting in desired outcomes. 

  • Mathematical Skills: Strong math skills with the ability to calculate percentages and develop basic graphs and spreadsheets.

  • Reasoning Ability: Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations, practices or procedures to: Define the problem or objective; Identify relevant concerns or factors; Identify patterns, tendencies and relationships; Formulate logical and objective conclusions; and, Recognize alternatives and their implications
