We are currently searching for a Medical Laboratory Technician to provide services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through the performance of support services. This opportunity is full-time, and it is on site in Bethesda, MD.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Score sleep records according to Rechtschaffen and Kales and AASM, and review study protocol with subjects and document routine observations.
  • Perform and review data entry and its preliminary evaluation.
  • Research other clinical and research regulatory requirements and recommend updates to clinic processes and procedures.
  • Manage and prepare data collection tools, blood samples plasma, RNA, DNA, lymphocytes and other sample collection procedures; monitor field work.
  • Maintain patient database; log subjects in chronic experimental settings.
  • Follow sleep study protocol, including study preparation, set-up, and monitoring patients in sleep study.
  • Maintain patient database; log subjects in chronic experimental settings.
  • Perform polysomnographic recording PSG on patient population on demand and based on individual patient requirement The ability to use applicable electrodes and sensors based on standard operation.
  • Initiate the investigation into problems with clinical laboratory procedures and equipment and consult with staff regarding unsolved problems

Requirements
  • Minimum Education is High School diploma or equivalent
  • Graduated from MLT program and passing a board exam for the Board of Registry of the American Society of Clinical Pathology
  • 0-1 years experience is required
