ROLE SUMMARY
The US Rare Endocrine and Neurology franchise is one of the most rapidly growing businesses across Pfizer Biopharma, with 60% 3-year CAGR, and a stellar pipeline including two breakthrough asset launches (“25 by 2025”) in the next 2 years, starting with the planned Ngenla (Somatrogon) launch early in 2022. The team is also progressing launch readiness efforts for Pfizer’s very first gene therapy medicine in a “Create” market, currently in late-stage (Phase 3) development for treatment of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Fordadistrogene movaparvovec is truly a breakthrough medicine with potential to transform treatment of DMD, a rare and fatal neurological condition affecting young boys, currently with no effective treatment options.
The US DMD Gene Therapy Marketing Health System and Launch Enablement Lead will play a mission-critical role on the Rare Endocrine & Neurology Marketing team, managing several critical initiatives across both of our near-term launch assets. Primary responsibility of this role will be to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy for account engagement to ensure DMD gene therapy readiness in key US health systems. Over the next few months, the Marketing Director will also lead field force activation strategy and launch KPI development in preparation for the anticipated Ngenla launch, with an opportunity to cross-pollinate learnings from these essential launch enablement activities to DMD gene therapy.
This position requires senior level marketing expertise, exceptional cross-functional leadership skills, change agility and experience in developing innovative solutions launching into novel therapeutic areas. The successful candidate should demonstrate strong strategic, analytical, execution and decision-making skills, with a proven track record of fostering cross-functional collaboration and delivering exceptional results. This position reports to the Senior Director, US Rare Disease Endocrine & Neurology Marketing Team Lead.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead development and execution of account engagement strategy to drive DMD gene therapy readiness in US health systems
Lead development of key programs and resources supporting disease education on DMD gene therapy, value proposition and workflow integration targeted to MG/IDNs
Lead opportunity assessment in health systems and develop customized solutions to accelerate DMD gene therapy adoption at launch
Collaborate with customer facing cross-functional colleagues including KAM, Medical Affairs, O&A (Outcomes & Analytics) and ACE directors on strategy pull-through, messaging and account training
Develop institutional stakeholder mapping including KOL and multidisciplinary teams informing potential partnerships and engagement strategy to advance health system objectives
Lead insight generation via market research and feedback from KAM/Medical/O&A colleagues to optimize Gene therapy care delivery
Lead development of innovative solutions and digital tools fueling enterprise Bold Move 3.3 customer engagement transformation
Partner effectively with the DMD Glocal launch team and US DMD cross-functional team to ensure an integrated approach to gene therapy readiness and customer engagement in US health systems
Lead segmentation and targeting plan for Ngenla at launch, maximizing launch impact with key customers
Partner with sales leadership team to plan and execute a robust training program and an impactful Ngenla launch meeting
Develop and track performance of launch KPIs including innovative data solutions to assess early launch learnings and drive continuous improvement
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree required, MBA or other advanced degree highly desirable
10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience required
Previous product launch and in-line US Marketing experience preferred
Experience working with US health systems (MG/IDN) strongly preferred
Demonstrated success in developing, executing and measuring complex marketing programs in white space that drive performance
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with varied internal stakeholders to identify key customer insights and translate into actionable strategies
Solid business acumen and organizational skills with excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management
Strong analytical skills; detail and action oriented; creative
Self-motivated and a team player
Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver results on multiple, complex, competing projects in a deadline-oriented environment
Rare disease or specialty experience preferred
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Occasional domestic travel anticipated for RC or team meetings, agency presentations, training, POAs, congresses and KOL meetings
