We are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Scientist – Radiochemist position to support the preclinical imaging activities for our growing Imaging team. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for synthesis and evaluation of radiotracers and implement them into pre-clinical imaging studies. The position will be based in our Immunology Discovery pharmacology group based in Worcester, MA.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of scientists including immunologists, in vivo pharmacologists, pathologists and AI programmers as well as with an experienced team of imaging scientists. Candidate will also have an opportunity to learn and employ in-vivo imaging to address the needs of translational imaging and drug discovery programs for other therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Involved from discovery through validation of radiolabeled imaging probes.

Develop radiolabeling methods for small molecules, peptides and biologics.

Implement analytical methods to analyze and purify radiolabeled compounds.

Perform in vitro assays to evaluate and optimize the radiolabeled compounds.

Implement SPECT capabilities for preclinical imaging studies.

Interpretation and communication of imaging results to project teams.

Ensure radiation safety compliance and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications
 

Ph.D. in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or related life science discipline with specialist knowledge in radiochemistry area OR Master’s degree with minimum 7 years directly related experience.

Strong understanding of radiolabeling methods for small molecules, peptides, and biologics with experience with purification and characterization of radiolabeled probes

     Knowledge of in vitro and cell-based assays for evaluating radiopharmaceuticals.

Significant understanding of SPECT imaging tracer research, including familiarity with data acquisition and analysis techniques.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, a logical approach to problem solving and high standards of attention to detail.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. in Radiopharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Chemistry, or related life science discipline with specialist knowledge in radiochemistry area OR Master’s degree with minimum 7 years directly related experience.
  • Strong understanding of radiolabeling methods for small molecules, peptides, and biologics with experience with purification and characterization of radiolabeled probes.
  • Knowledge of in vitro and cell-based assays for evaluating radiopharmaceuticals.
