As the Manager, PGS Digital Automation Technology Analyst - Kalamazoo, you will be a member of the PGS Digital Plant Network Operations Team in Pfizer Digital providing project coordination, implementation support, and technical guidance for various Digital projects while supporting day-to-day operations for Digital Services.

This PGS Digital Automation Technology Analyst will provide coordination for infrastructure services projects and device configuration, deployment, and support for services and solutions supporting manufacturing operations at the Kalamazoo & Rochester sites. Scope will include but not limited to network infrastructure (wired/wireless), server infrastructure, front end infrastructure (PCs, tablets, office & specialty printers, RF scanners) and security services integrated into the site infrastructure.

This PGS Digital Automation Technology Analyst will be accountable for overseeing solution design, performing level 3-4 triage and support, and consulting/coordination of infrastructure deliverables in partnership with various solution teams and external service providers. The role will work closely with site Business Analysts and Project Managers to deliver all Digital solutions for the sites in scope.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Builds strong relationships with clients to translate business needs into existing or new Digital infrastructure solutions, provide support, and understand their support requirements.

  • Provides technical consultation on the design and engineering of infrastructure technologies and implementations.

  • Coordinate infrastructure projects and tasks at the site by liaising with site manufacturing clients, Application & Infrastructure Solution Delivery Teams, Site Colleague Services, GT&E, and project teams to support Pfizer Digital Solution/Service deployment.

  • Support Global Pfizer Digital and Pfizer Global Technology & Engineering (GT&E) priority programs for standardization and globalization.

  • Provide L3 technology support and apply site-specific knowledge to address incidents with manufacturing, automation, laboratory systems and other GMP systems while escalating infrastructure issues to subject matter experts or supporting team.

  • Provide infrastructure expertise, including sizing, hardware installation, peripheral configuration, network design, etc.

  • Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and configuration of devices not otherwise supported by site Colleague Services including patching, change control, and upgrades while adhering to GMP requirements as necessary.

  • Support IT manufacturing, automation, lab systems infrastructure deployment.

  • Implement and maintain the Pfizer Plant Automation Network Structure (PANS) as required by the Plant Network Security Improvement Program (PNSIP); Implement other security services and requirements as required by Digital Global Information Security.

  • Participate in the 24x5 on call system for high priority PGS tickets and provide problem solving assistance and site-specific knowledge as needed for all high priority tickets globally.

  • Support the evaluation and implementation of new automation technologies with Pfizer Digital and GT&E.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5 years’ demonstrated experience in IT systems/infrastructure or High School Diploma with an additional 4 years’ experience in IT systems/infrastructure (9 years total). Relevant certifications can be substituted for one year of experience

  • Demonstrated capability to communicate effectively both written and verbal; embrace diversity; influence stakeholders and build business partnerships to deliver results.

  • Understanding of the ITIL operational framework for IT (i.e., ITIL certified).

  • Knowledge of and intellectual curiosity to learn new automation technologies, processes, and business strategies.

  • Ability to work towards departmental objectives with minimal supervision in the day to day work environment and be adaptable to changing priorities and assignments.

  • Ability to present technical information in front of colleagues and management when necessary.

  • Ability to participate in multiple projects with multiple suppliers at the same time and complete tasks on schedule.

  • Functional/Technical Knowledge: Applies extensive information technology expertise to role.

  • Demonstrated skills in leading, planning, and developing successful business systems and infrastructure services projects.

Nice-to-Have

  • Bachelor Degree Preferred

  • 1-3 years related experience in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and/or manufacturing industry.

  • Project Management methodologies (i.e., PMI).

  • Software Development Life Cycle methodologies including Agile.

  • Continuous Improvement methodologies (i.e., Six Sigma certified).

  • GMP and associated regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and shop floor processes.

  • Mobile technologies and applications in manufacturing processes.

  • Knowledge of Cyber Security architecture and applications.

  • Working knowledge of Windows PCs, Windows OS, Windows Server OS, Cisco network devices, and other telecommunications technologies.

  • Experience operating in a GMP or otherwise regulated environment.
     

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Office work environment.

  • Use of appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required when in designated manufacturing environment.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel domestically 1-2 times/year; International 1 time/year.

  • Periodic travel to Rochester, MI as needed.

  • May need to work weekends or off-hours depending upon systems deployments and/or issues.

  • Will need to adhere to safe work practices and don appropriate gowning and/or PPE when entering aseptic, API, or other classified areas to meet with clients.
