Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

We are looking to hire a Senior Corporate Counsel to be an integral part of our legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a life sciences attorney who wants to take a leadership role at a growing clinical-stage biotechnology company.

  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts across all functional groups within the company, including technical operations (manufacturing), supply chain, quality, research and development, clinical, medical affairs, regulatory, business development, and G&A functions

  • Provide practical, sound, risk-based, and business-oriented legal counsel regarding contracts to internal stakeholders at all levels and functions within the company

  • Manage and continuously improve the company’s contract lifecycle management processes and procedures, including developing, implementing, and improving templates, playbooks, and policies to support the continued growth of the company

  • Lead and mentor colleagues in the legal group, including contracts managers and legal operations managers

About You:

We are looking for an experienced JD with prior experience drafting and negotiating contracts (particularly related to pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology products and services), handling transactional and other corporate counseling matters. If you have excellent organization and communication skills, demonstrated attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality, then this is the role for you! Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to interact professionally with all levels and functions within the company, as well as external partners, potential collaborators, and service providers.   Additional role requirements include:

  • An understanding of licenses and intellectual property issues, regulatory issues, privacy and data security issues, and healthcare compliance issues related to life science contracts

  • Knowledge of and proven ability to manage contract lifecycle management technologies, e.g., CLM databases, workflow management systems, and electronic signature systems

  • Ability to handle multiple transactional and counseling matters at the same time, including planning, organizing, and executing multiple related assignments and effectively navigate a deadline-driven environment

  • This includes master service/supply agreements, material transfer agreements, research agreements, license agreements, clinical trial agreements, and technology collaboration and evaluation agreements

  • Ability to understand risk and risk mitigation in analyzing and providing business solutions and legal advice

Company

Many of us pursuing work in the biotechnology industry are inspired by a loved one who is living with a disease or the loss of someone in our community. Rare genetic and oncological and immunological diseases not only affect the people living with often debilitating and life-threatening symptoms, but these disorders also significantly impact their families, friends and caregivers.

Our researchers work tirelessly to harness the genome editing technology CRISPR/Cas9 for human therapeutic use. Jennifer Doudna, an Intellia co-founder, and Emmanuelle Charpentier were awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their pioneering work in CRISPR. We at Intellia are humbled to have a hand in making what we believe to be medical history. As a leader in this space, we take this responsibility to patients seriously.

We are employing a modular genome editing platform to create diverse in vivo and ex vivo pipelines, spanning a range of therapeutic indications. Guided by this full-spectrum approach, we are committed to making CRISPR/Cas9-based medicines a reality for patients suffering from genetic diseases and to creating novel engineered cell therapies for various cancers and autoimmune diseases.
