We are currently seeking a qualified, highly motivated, experienced individual for the position of Director, Strategic Partnerships and Innovation (SP&I). The position is located in Brisbane, California.

Position Summary

This individual will be a key member of the Strategic Partnerships & Innovation (SP&I) team, reporting to the Head of SP&I. The SP&I department also includes Advocacy and sits within the Office of the CEO.

The SP&I team is responsible for managing a portfolio of ecosystem relationships and strategic partnerships to drive innovation in women’s health and prostate cancer.  The Director will play a critical role in developing and executing the team’s partnership strategy and in ensuring the success of strategic initiatives and partnership relationships.  This individual will be responsible for identifying and engaging with a broad set of stakeholders that include digital health and technology companies, patient advocacy groups and non-profit organizations, and provider groups.  They will be responsible for managing Myovant’s innovation coalitions, Female Forward Together and Forward Momentum (cross-sector coalitions focused on elevating the conversation around women’s / men’s health and driving change through research, education, and action).  This includes managing coalition initiatives and engaging with specific partners to identify, develop, and launch new research, capabilities, and products.  Success in this role requires excellent strategic skills, partner management capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to design, build and operationalize new solutions.  We value your entrepreneurial spirit and creativity in working to change the status quo

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the team’s strategic roadmap focused on innovation through partnerships, with clear and actionable objectives, strategies, and tactics
  • Lead key research efforts to generate stakeholder insights, identify areas of unmet need, and prioritize opportunities
  • Identify, scope and manage a portfolio of strategic partner projects; maintain responsibility for success, shifting priorities as needed; manage stakeholder relationships and expectations
  • Build and lead cross-organizational teams to pilot and execute on new capabilities and solutions (partnerships, products, services, digital tools), leveraging human-centered design and product development toolkits
  • Become a trusted and credible partner for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring understanding of specific challenges and needs and identifying mutually beneficial opportunities
  • Lead business problem solving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior leadership and business partners
  • Anticipate trends in the external environment, develop and share perspective on market evolution and implications for Myovant, and evolve strategies accordingly
  • Develop financial models to evaluate new business opportunities
  • Influence and gain acceptance of ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking
  • Establish and lead thought leadership efforts tied to key areas of focus
  • Identify and interface with external stakeholders to evaluate new partnership opportunities and manage existing relationships and coalitions, including Female Forward Together and / or Forward Momentum
  • Help to build the Strategic Partnerships & Innovation team, including designing organizational structure, recruiting talent, managing and mentoring team members


Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of work experience in strategic roles via management consulting, strategy, innovation, business development, product management / development or similar function
  • 6+ years of healthcare industry experience across various stakeholders (e.g., life sciences, payor/provider, digital health)
  • 10+ years of work experience with a graduate degree in business, science, technology, public health or related field preferred
  • Experience working in technology development / commercialization including an understanding across design thinking, product development and commercial operations
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives or transformations in collaboration with senior leadership teams and in partnership with stakeholders across the organization
  • Experience managing external partnerships, including partner identification, engagement and ongoing management
  • Extremely strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, an ability to summarize complex medical and scientific information for broad audiences, and experience creating strategic communication plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Experience leading diverse cross-functional teams to deliver results, and strong project management skills, including planning, timelines and budgets
  • A purpose-driven mindset with a high level of energy, initiative, and ownership, and a desire to think creatively


  • Ability to travel approximately 25% within North America and internationally
  • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk
  • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment
  • Close vision required for computer usage
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 20 pounds
