We are currently searching for a Science Writer to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a part-time, six-month position with MSC, and it is on-site in Rockville, MD.

 

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate as directed in teaching science writing to NIH collaborators living and working in less developed countries.
  • Mentor junior scientists in manuscript writing for program supported research.
  • Provide editorial services, review, and consultation on program-supported projects, including books, reports, and planning documents, as requested.
  • For scientific meetings, assist speakers and presenters in development and polishing of posters, Powerpoint presentations, and talks on supported collaborative research.
  • Develop specialized materials covering highly complex subject matter areas for various purposes and audiences.
  • Provide advice and conduct reviews of materials prepared by other division staff.
  • Develop scientific and technical materials regarding research programs and activities as well as scientific accomplishments

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of editorial experience is required
