Stat Programmer II

The position will be in data visualization team, Safety Statistical programming group. The Statistical programmer works collaboratively with the end users, internal colleagues to ensure the efficient, high-quality production of data visualizations and statistical outputs using Spotfire/R and other visualization tools supporting real time online clinical trial data review in Gilead.

Key Skills
  • Shows effective collaboration with staff in Biostatistics, Clinical Data Management, and Clinical Research, Global Drug Safety etc.
  • Begins to understand how to put together and update programming specifications.
  • Proactively anticipates the next steps for their work.
  • Programs visualization analysis datasets using SAS, R/R Shiny
  • Proficient in data visualization software - Spotfire, R/R Shiny
  • SQL, Python and Java programming skills is plus


Job responsibilities
  • Works collaboratively with Clinical Development to meet study deliverables and timelines
  • Assesses the quality of analysis data and performs cross-study analyses.
  • Has sufficient understanding to follow an analysis plan and provide programming support for study deliverables.
  • Follow the steps to set up the study(ies) using Spotfire or R/R Shiny.
  • Assist in the review of GSI Policies, SOPs and other controlled documents
  • Provide input to and participate in Programming and Biometrics meetings.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Programming Environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Demonstrates SAS programming proficiency.
  • Proficient in data visualization software - Spotfire, R/R Shiny
  • Has knowledge of clinical trial study design and electronic data submission requirements.
  • The position is site-based.


Education and experience
  • 4 years of experience and a BS degree in Biostatistics/Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 2 year of experience and a MS degree in Biostatistics/Computer Science or equivalent.
