We are currently searching for an Electromyography Technician will provide electrodiagnostic technical services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). As a board-certified or board-eligible registered EMG Technician, the primary objective is to perform services and deliverables through performance of electrodiagnostic testing in clinical and experimental settings, including routine nerve conduction studies and special studies such as repetitive nerve stimulation, transcarpal studies. This position has clinical responsibilities that involve direct patient care.  This opportunity is full-time, and it is on site in Bethesda, MD.  

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Determine when modifications and adjustments are necessary for experiments by providing insight, expertise and recommending new strategies and approaches.
  • Perform a variety of laboratory techniques and procedures relating to scientific research
  • Prepare materials and equipment for experiments
  • Perform fundamental procedures required for research projects
  • Maintain inventory system and sample storage according to outlined guidelines
  • Ensure that supplies and consumables are ready and on hand as necessary for maximum efficiency in the laboratory
  • Ensure that adequate clean inventory is available for immediate usage
  • Monitor and inventory routine laboratory supplies; ensure that supplies are stocked and organized
  • Perform fundamental procedures required for research projects
  • Provide technical help and expertise to lab members
  • Work with staff to implement storage and distribution of biological samples for future scientific research
  • Collect and enter research data into laboratory notebooks and databases
  • Work with staff on the maintenance of laboratory logs and databases
  • Prepare reports and summaries based on results and findings
  • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance schedules








  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • EMG Technologist Board Certified or Board-Eligibility Preferred



  • Nerve conduction studies
  • Needle electromyography
  • Single-fiber electromyography
  • Nerve stimulation studies
  • Proficient in MS Outlook
