Breakthrough Fellowship Program – CBIO Business Analytics, Global Pricing and Business Development

This program is designed to enhance our pipeline of diverse talent of leaders. Applicants for the Breakthrough Fellowship Program 10-week internship and intend to pursue their Master of Business Administration degree (MBA), Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or MS Statistics consistent with the time requirements of the program.

There are 5 openings within the Breakthrough Fellowship Program within the Chief Business Information Office, they are listed below. Apply to this requisition of you are interested in one or more of the following positions.

1 - Global Pricing, Internship: Candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Global Pricing’s Emerging Markets (EM) pricing team to support pricing strategies and assessments across EM (Africa & Middle East, Asia and Latin America).  Then with the EM Strategic Pricing Lead to work across the broader Global Pricing and PHI teams to utilize insight and models to improve our ability to use price as a strategic lever with a goal of improving access for patients.

2 - Business Assessment Analyst Internship: Summer intern would join a dynamic, fast paced, highly collaborative, Strategic Forecasting team. The Strategic Forecasting team a) provides standardized forecasting tools/models, training, and forecasting guidance to the commercial business units in support of pipeline investment decisions and the annual operating plan process, b) assesses forecasts to answer business-critical questions pertaining to product and portfolio strategy, and c) provides portfolio-level risk and opportunity assessments to Pfizer leadership. The analyst will cover the above responsibilities for brand teams across multiple therapeutic areas. 

3 - Business Development Analyst, Internship: Summer intern will be responsible for researching target partners of interest using publicly available information and proprietary databases and communicating his/her findings in clear and concise ways, usually using PowerPoint but occasionally also Word.  The summer worker may also be asked to join meetings and record and manage follow-up actions, and to perform basic financial modeling work using Excel.

4 - Portfolio & Decision Analyst Internship: The Portfolio and Decision Analysis group facilitates strategic discussions and advise on tough investment and trade-off decisions for programs within the clinical portfolio, as well as provide the organization with an external view on the marketplace and the competitive environment. This role involves working in close collaboration with stakeholder groups (e.g., Worldwide Research, Development and Medical (WRDM), Global Product Development (GPD), Finance) to identify strategic issues, research competitive activities and curate competitive information, crystalize competitive insights in order to facilitate discussion, and implement qualitative and/or quantitative analyses to inform decision-making.

5 - Strategy and Consulting Summer Analyst (Internship): The scope of the role will include contributions to BU strategic planning, therapeutic area strategies, developing solutions to reach more patients with our medicines and vaccines, issues related to growth and profitability across products and markets, and assessment of market and competitive signals that could impact business performance or overall strategic direction.

Requirements

  • Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate program and have completed 3 years pursuing an degree completion of December 2022 or Spring 2023.

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Quantitative analysis

  • Strong initiative and self-motivator

  • Effective oral and written communication

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

  • Demonstrated high learning agility, “team player” mentality, and positive attitude and poise under pressure.
