CONTRACT - SOURCING MANAGER

Position Summary:

The Sourcing Manager will support the Director of Procurement within the Procurement department to manage strategic sourcing and purchasing of assigned categories with a focus on Research, G&A (Facilities, IT), and or Commercial operations.  Create strategic sourcing plans utilizing an understanding of strategic sourcing methodology and best practices with the goal of securing high quality goods and services, continuity of supply, and continuous cost reductions/savings.  As part of the Procurement Team, the Sourcing Manager will be responsible for a wide range of activities including stakeholder engagement and supplier management, spend data mining and analysis, contract review and negotiation, source plan development and execution, cost savings execution, tracking and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, and drive sourcing initiatives and strategic source plans across the greater organization
  • Manage, coordinate, support sourcing projects, including competitive bidding initiatives, cost improvement programs (CIP), RFI/RFP/RFQ's, alternate sourcing events
  • Develop and maintain key relationships across the various functions and levels within supplier organizations and strong collaboration with scientists and key stakeholders/business partners to deliver value for the organization
  • Search, evaluate, select and manage suppliers for specific spend categories
  • Develop short- and long-term category strategies that support GBT's Corporate and Quality expectations
  • Identify, execute and report on cost savings and/or cost avoidance initiatives
  • Negotiate, review and execute all types of contracts including but not limited to; MSA, SOW, Change Orders, NDA, MTA's
  • Perform data analysis and utilize financial acumen to identify opportunities to leverage scale and drive cost savings
  • Provide training to end users on Sourcing tools and processes
  • Interface with Purchasing and AP for resolving Procure to Pay issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree
  • Require a minimum of 5 years of procurement (Sourcing or Purchasing) related experience
  • Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Commercial Organization preferred and a definite plus
  • Performs a variety of complicated or multi-layered tasks
  • Outstanding organization and detailed oriented skills
  • Applies strong analytical and business communication skills
  • Strong project and process management skills to execute Sourcing strategies with cross functional teams
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple and challenging deadlines
  • Must be customer and results oriented, flexible, team player, improvement minded, self-motivated with good judgement and decision-making ability
