OPPORTUNITY
The Vice President of Product Management is responsible for leading Product Management activities for Mammoth’s molecular diagnostic products. Key activities for the position include product strategy, product life cycle management, product launches, leading a team of product managers, and supporting the commercial organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a key voice and active member of the leadership team
  • Manage and grow a team of product managers to support established and new product lines
  • Experience working within the molecular in vitro diagnostics (IVD) market with strong knowledge of current marketed products and competition
  • Experience across testing formats including reagent kits, laboratory instrumentation, point of care devices, and over-the-counter (OTC) diagnostic products. Knowledge and understanding of decentralized testing environments and laboratory testing services a plus
  • Identify unmet customer needs and new product/market opportunities in molecular diagnostics by utilizing structured voice of customer (VOC) processes.
  • Drive the development of new product concepts in close cooperation with R&D, business development and other internal stakeholders. Think creatively about the future of diagnostics and health care delivery to arrive at true breakthroughs for the industry
  • Manage through challenges that arise in product development – timelines, technical risks, vendors, and shifting regulatory requirements. Participate in tough conversations about prioritization and tradeoffs
  • Provide input and define the long-term product roadmap through gaining market insights via customer interaction and competitive analysis. Build consensus for the product strategy across a range of stakeholders and functional teams within the organization
  • Foster relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) within a variety of clinical environments
  • Contribute to business model formation by taking into account market dynamics and reimbursement strategies
  • Develop and deliver positioning documents, educational content, product training, sales tools, and application-specific tactics to enable the sales team
  • Represent product management in new product development teams and act as a resource to Mammoth’s co-development partners.
  • Participate and present in key conferences and internal and external meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 years of related work experience OR Master’s degree with at least 10 years of related work experience 
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in marketing-related or customer-facing roles in the medical device or diagnostic industries
  • Experience working within the molecular IVD market with strong knowledge of current marketed products and competition
  • Prior product launch experience with added value on taking a new product concept to the market
  • Experience across testing formats including reagent kits, laboratory instrumentation, and point of care devices
  • Knowledge and understanding of CLIA laboratories and laboratory testing services 
  • Basic familiarity with regulatory processes including FDA 510(k) and CE mark
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 25-30%, both domestic and/or internationally, as required and permissible

  • Proven experience working in cross-functional product development teams
  • Excellent and presentation skills
  • Communicates effectively and strong team player/collaborator with various internal constituents, customers and other stakeholders
  • Analytical thinking and in-depth understanding of the current market environment is a requirement
