Pricing and Planning activities are a crucial aspect of AbbVie business.  Incumbent will be responsible for the execution of the Pricing and Planning Monitoring Program throughout the year per the approved schedule, as well as defining the schedule for the subsequent year. This will include monitoring both business processes and government price type calculations to ensure all pre-defined procedures are being followed, and that our calculation methodologies are being adhered to in the Model N system. Incumbent will also be responsible for the monthly tie-out tie out process. This process is completed to ensure accuracy within government price type calculations.  The incumbent must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and be able to foster and develop solid internal and external cross-functional relationships (i.e. OEC, Pricing personnel, etc.). Additionally, Incumbent will provide routine and ad hoc financial analysis as required for Medicaid, 340B and Audit.

Core Job Responsibilities:                 

  • Responsible for all monitoring related activities as set forth in the Pricing monitoring schedule.  This includes updates to the monitoring templates, gathering of metrics for meetings with Senior Leadership and OEC.
  • Completing monthly audit requests
  • Creating Annual Monitoring Schedule in Conjunction with Manager
  • Lead the execution of the monthly tie-out process
  • Prepare and distribute monthly and quarterly business reports to external and internal customers including Medicaid Gross to Net (GTN) and CF Transition Tracking
  • Miscellaneous distribution of 340B related reporting to brand teams
  • Best Price Impact for Potential Market Access Contracting Strategies
  • Miscellaneous Ad Hoc Financial Analysis related to Medicaid or 340B
  • Support data requests for audit and legal requests as needed

Position Accountabilityand Scope:                                           

Incumbent should be knowledgeable in the area of government pharmaceutical pricing programs, chargeback/rebate operations, and customer service.  Position will require a high degree of problem solving and analytical skill sets to accomplish tasks.  The incumbent is an experienced individual contributor and is expected to assume full responsibility and accountability for required responsibilities and be able to handle with only minimal supervision and technical guidance.  The incumbent must be able to act independently and demonstrate sound business judgment within the scope of defined guidelines.  This position will report to the Senior Manager, Government Programs.


Minimum Education:

  • B.A./B.S. required OR equivalent experience required (e.g. 3+ years in Finance/Accounting, preferably pricing)

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • Two or more years’ experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, in financial/analytical roles, customer service, trade relations, or government pricing.  Experience in IT Business support helpful, but not required.  Must have very strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access in order to be able to work with and analyze large amounts of data and compare between systems.  Knowledge and proficiency with SAP platforms and government pricing systems (i.e. Model N.) desired.  Excellent communication skills required.
