SENIOR ASSOCIATE ANALYTICAL DEVELOPMENT

There an exciting career opportunity to join the Pivotal Attribute Sciences team based in Amgen Cambridge, Massachusetts site. In this role of Senior Associate you will:

Work within a collaborative matrix environment to support product and process characterization studies, data analysis and investigations.

With general guidance, this role will purify and test late stage protein pharmaceutical products with advanced analytical methods including HPLC/UPLC (high and ultra-high liquid chromatography), titer, CE (capillary electrophoresis), CEX (cation exchange), HILIC (hydrophilic interaction)

Contribute to development, optimization and troubleshooting of analytical methods, support qualification, transfer and validation experiments with a focus on separation-based purity methods

Other duties include data analysis, maintenance of electronic notebook records of experimental data, general laboratory housekeeping

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree

OR

Bachelors degree & 2 years of directly related experience

OR

Associates degree & 4 years of directly related experience

OR

High school diploma/GED & 6 years of directly related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Analytical Chemistry or closely related field
  • Experience in an industrial or academic analytical laboratory supporting characterization of protein therapeutics
  • Hands on experience with analytical methodologies used to characterize protein therapeutics including CE, SEC, IEX, RP and HILIC
  • Experience with CE and LC instrument handling and troubleshooting
  • Experience in glycan characterization is a plus
  • Working knowledge of data processing and analysis tools in Excel and other statistical software
  • Ability to work in a matrix team environment and collaborate effectively
  • Ability to independently prioritize, manage and schedule tasks in order to meet deliverables
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) is a plus
