The P&O Business Partner TRD CGT San Diego is responsible for the Technical Research & Development (TRD) Cell & Gene Therapies (CGT) group and serves as P&O Business Partner for the local GTx site in San Diego. The incumbent serves as a key partner to management on P&O related matters for multiple functional groups and acts as liaison between the client and other P&O services (specialists and shared services) and supports Global P&O Business Partners in providing high quality P&O support to TRD Biologics & CGT.

 

They also manage P&O projects on a Global Drug Development (GDD) TRD level (Year-end Evolve process, Promotion cycle, Our Voice (organization & culture survey) and other developmental projects in line with interest).

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and anticipates P&O related needs and communicates needs proactively with our P&O department and business management.
  • Develops integrated solutions and formulates partnerships across the P&O function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.
  • Maintains an effective level of business knowledge, understands the culture, and integrates into the environment as a true business partner.
  • Implements corporate policy at the business unit/function level.
  • Facilitates organization and leadership development efforts, working with employees and managers to address root causes of people & organization issues.
  • Plays a significant role in administering talent management and succession planning activity within client organization.
  • Resolves employee relations issues through a systematic approach.
  • Develops and drives company-wide programs and initiatives (e.g., performance and salary review, workforce planning, and organizational change).
  • Serves as a strategic business partner, change agent, and member of the line management staff.
  • Works with the culture ambassadors and advocates the Technical Research & Development (TRD) culture journey by role modeling our culture aspiration
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Integrates talent and performance management related actions and outcomes across all functions within aligned organizations. Measures, monitors and activates outcome-based talent actions.
  • Ensures the effective delivery of all P&O programs and services. Responsible for P&O results in the business, including client satisfaction, P&O effectiveness and associated financial results.
  • Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with key P&O partners from all practice areas to ensure elements of P&O are successfully coordinated to meet business needs and priorities.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintains credibility with Senior Management to maximize successful outcomes.
  • Identification of trends and new approaches to business processes should be both incremental as well as “ahead of the curve.”
  • Diagnoses, develops and delivers P&O strategies, programs and services that influence and drive the needs of the respective business.
  • Builds trust-based, collaborative, sustainable relationships with executives, managers and customer groups.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's in Labor Relations, Business, Industrial Relations or similar discipline is a plus.
  • Experience at a senior level HR position, demonstrating success working in a complex operating environment, preferably biopharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and leverage partner HR functions to deploy resources and programs that positively impact the business.
  • Demonstrated understanding of organizational development activity including high performing teams.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders and collaborate with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of employment/labor regulations.
  • Ability to learn fast, know the business, and change course quickly when needed.
  • Ability to model and demonstrate work behaviors that are consistent the organizations values.
  • Strong communication, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.

 

The level of this position will be based on the final candidate's qualifications.
