Business Systems Analyst, Anaplan Lead

We are looking for a passionate Anaplan Architect & Administrator to support the Anaplan Forecast at Pacific Biosciences.

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for operational support, gathering and developing business requirements and best-practices, report/process development and documentation, investigation of internal/external issues, systems design change impact/risk analysis, providing operational excellence through knowledge-sharing, and acting as a liaison/representative between both the Finance and Commercial Group and IT. You must have the ability to communicate effectively with both finance professionals and commercial teams. You must have the experience to listen to a request or issue expressed by the business and design/implement the appropriate solution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Finance and Commercial Group in Month-End and Quarterly Forecasting lifecycle.
  • Implement projects of varying size and scope
  • Develop and implement designs for changes to the system. Work with external vendors or other teams to ensure the correct design and implementation.
  • Develop unit tests correlating to given requirements for each assigned task.
  • Contribute project documentation to support maintenance and future development activities
  • Ad-hoc reporting support
  • Delivery on the Forecasting Plan Strategy and Roadmap


Requirements and General Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience working in a finance or commercial development role
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate and work with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A problem-solving mindset: the individual should be highly motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Technical Skills:

  • 7+ Years Anaplan Administration
  • 5+ Years of Anaplan Model and Report Design
  • 3+ Year SAP ERP experience
  • Intermediate understanding of ETL preferred
  • Intermediate/Expert understanding of Finance and Accounting
  • Advanced Knowledge of Excel and Database Design concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, teamwork, and issue resolution
  • Knowledge of Tableau Analytics preferred
  • Certified Anaplan Model Builder required
