As a Lab Software Support Engineer at GRAIL, you’ll enjoy working directly with the software development team, clinical operations, research scientists and assay designers resolving lab data requirements, performing custom configurations of our LIMS, and utilizing scripting, data integrations and SQL migrations. You will support the clinical and R&D teams in problem solving by finding solutions to get lab derived data effectively and accurately recorded into our system and develop scalable workflows for operational teams.
You Will:
  • Understanding lab processing workflows for GRAIL products and studies across multiple distributed systems 
  • Supporting our custom in-house built LIMS and working with software engineers to design solutions for scaling GRAIL research, clinical, and manufacturing operations.
  • Developing and configuring clinical assay software using custom GRAIL systems in collaboration with lab operators, assay designers and automation engineers.
  • Collaborating with internal partners to understand their LIMS data needs and how our systems can support them
  • Mentoring and guiding other team members to help improve their skills and elevate the software organization.

Your Background Should Include:
  • At least 1 year of proven experience working within LIS/LIMS, clinical systems, software, database or data lake architectures
  • Knowledge of SQL, MySQL, and/or other query languages for data migrations
  • Solid understanding of general-purpose scripting languages such Python, bash/csh, etc.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being collaborative and the ability to lead projects.
  • Willingness to guide others and learn new techniques.
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure preferred. 
  • Experience with database migration, performance tuning, and optimization preferred.
  • Experience with web applications and web development preferred.
