Primary Function: Compliance Training Project Manager:

The Compliance Training Project Manager is responsible for the management of the Commercial Compliance Course Catalog and periodic communications to learners.  Management of these courses includes oversight for creation, design, content, launch schedule, delivery, and record keeping of all courses.  Project Manager will work closely with Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC) and Legal to align compliance content and ensure duplication of content does not occur.  The Project Manager will also partner with subject matter experts in support areas (i.e., Speaker Program Operations, Tools Training, Sample Operations, Pharmacovigilance, etc.) to oversee the design, development, and implementation of compliance training courses in line with business goals.  

The Project Manager will also be asked for functional and tactical support of ad hoc compliance initiatives as needed. This support will include planning, development of ideas, gathering teams, monitoring progress, setting deadlines, budgeting, and communicating progress.

The Project Manager is also responsible for course content curation through the gathering of insights from field and home office users throughout the year and ensuring that the content is relevant and up to date.  This will be accomplished through various channels including Ask OEC and It’s About Time Champion activities.

 

Major Responsibilities:

       Responsible for project management oversight for the creation/redesign of compliance training courses and communications for field and home office-based learners within the US/PR Commercial Organization. Apply compliance knowledge and learnings to continually improve courses and communications.
 

Project Management:

  • Oversee entire process from design of compliance training courses through learner feedback.
  • Ensure that all content is created and developed in accordance with internal client business requirements, objectives, goals, and timeframes.
  • Collaborate with AbbVie Learning Center (ALC) team to ensure schedule meets training plan requirements and ensure that course audiences are accurate.
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and multitask to enhance productivity and manage workload in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Facilitates ongoing meetings with Subject Matter Experts and Reviewers to ensure process efficiency resulting in timely decision making and communication on expectations for course launch deadlines.
  • Manages project retention files and ensures compliance with all departmental and procedures, operating guidelines and other applicable policies and guidelines.
     

 

 Content Management

  • Ensure compliance courses are instructionally sound and aligned with course design standards and templates.
  • Proactively provide guidance to Subject Matter Experts and OEC/Legal Reviewers on alignment of course content to relevant regulations and internal procedures.
  • Provides solutions and contingency plans through comprehensive review of alternatives.
  • Regularly review and assess course catalog for alignment between courses and current policy.
  • Employ innovation and compliance knowledge to continually improve the learner experience and compliance acumen.


Communication:

  •  Consistently communicates timely and accurate information and project progress across functional teams to prioritize tasks, meet project timelines and compliance training course standards.
  • Communicate clearly and accurately to various levels of management individually and in group settings.
     

Vendor Management:

  • Continue to build collaborative relationship with selected vendor to ensure that project timelines, deliverables, and project changes are aligned with expectations and business needs.
  • Monitors and tracks vendor activities for effective project management.
  • Manage budget and implementation of continuous improvement of course delivery methods

Accountability/Scope:
 

  • Reports to Director, US/PR Compliance Operations
  • Works with stakeholders throughout the organization; Commercial Operations personnel, Office of Ethics and Compliance, Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, Environmental Health and Safety, Sales and Marketing Representatives.
  • Must be able to multitask and manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
  • Must be flexible in a dynamic environment to change practices or procedures to balance standardized course expectations with Subject Matter Expert expectations.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of compliance concepts and ability to work them into the importance of the work we do.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills ability to question stakeholders when content is confusing or convoluted.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including external vendors through large project volume or initiatives.
  • Proven project management skills with oversight of project schedules, team deliverables, and course development.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment, Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
  • Individual should have a proven track record of leadership, initiative, multi-tasking, and negotiation abilities. 
  • Knowledge and prior experience with AbbVie products, marketing, commercial operations, or field sales experience is a plus.
