The ideal candidate is a strategic, business-focused, creative, and proactive leader that thrives in a fast-paced environment.

In this position you will:

  • Develop and implement content & engagement strategies to support our organizational growth objectives
  • Oversee and execute a digital and social media content strategy to gain mind-share, grow our community, and increase engagement
  • Establish a formal content development strategy
  • Cultivate and lead a high-performance content team
  • Ensure published content meets BioSpace editorial standards
  • Identify stories ideas/topics and manage writer assignments
  • Develop & manage a robust editorial calendar
  • Recruit and manage a network of freelance contributors
  • Communicate clear expectations for quality content
  • Monitor website and newsletter analytics and provide monthly reports on performance
  • Hold staff accountable for content that is balanced, fair, accurate and complete
  • Proactively identify & recommend new content initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with PR media agencies, investment analysts and other key industry sources
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of all content programs
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and conduct research as necessary for insights, awareness and satisfaction
  • Collaborate with other department leaders on content promotion opportunities

Position requirements:

  • 5-10 years of applicable professional experience, with emphasis on content marketing strategy and execution
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field (MBA a plus)
  • Superb written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in strategic planning and translating strategic plans into strong tactical execution
  • Proven ability to develop and cultivate relationships with industry executives, PR agencies, investment analysts, and other key industry sources
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, online publishing environment
