The Contract Manager is responsible for managing and administering the contracts management process for a variety of agreements including confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements, services agreements, material transfer agreements, license agreements, and collaboration agreements. The Contract Manager will ensure that that contracts are completed in a timely manner in accordance with company policies, internal client requirements and applicable regulations. The Contract Manager will support the legal department with various legal matters, including contract review, coordination, routing and execution, and maintenance of the contract management database. Specific Responsibilities
Intake, track, and coordinate contract requests and review with internal and external parties. Manage the contracting process, including managing contract requests, reviewing documents, securing signatures and filing fully executed documents such as: Consulting agreements SOWs Terminations Amendments Purchase order terms Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters. Manage and develop contract template processes, including systematic reviews of manuals, templates, and playbooks, and incorporate best contracting practices and provisions. Ensure consistency of contract terms with legal department policies to manage company risk. Update and maintain contract data in the legal electronic systems, including scheduling reminders of key dates, reviewing upcoming contract renewals and expirations, and reporting key contract information and metrics to functional area leaders.Manage corporate maintenance and state filings. Qualifications
Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university highly preferred. 5+ years of relevant contracts and corporate experience, including contract drafting and negotiation experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or large law firm. Experience with contract management systems is preferred. Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information. Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail; high level of accuracy and strong proofreading skills. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with individuals from all departments and at all levels of the organization. Strong ability to analyze data and create succinct presentations tailored to the audience at hand. Self-motivated and ability to thrive in a fast-paced and lean environment.
