The Senior Director of Sourcing & procurement will lead the sourcing and supplier management activities, including, contracting, delivery, quality and cost performance, as well as the overall relationship management between Company and the respective supplier base. Objectives include development and rationalization of the supplier base to optimize the supply chain and to drive performance based on KPIs and SLAs. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Empower a multi-site procurement organization focused on servicing internal customers, delivering cost management and standardizing processes across the network.
  • Supervise and direct assigned staff including monitoring and evaluating work performance, interviewing and hiring staff, conducting training and development, establishing work priorities and scheduling job tasks
  • Working in conjunction with site leadership and based on joint goals, analyze business plans, production environments, and supply requirements to determine optimal sourcing strategies across geographies. 
  • Lead and empower procurement organization to negotiation commodity/service purchase agreements on a national and international platform with objective to deliver site value to the enterprise.
  • Identify and implement strategic processes and technology to drive efficiencies across team. This should include sourcing processes, score carding and compliance.
  • Provides direction with respect to negotiations and negotiating teams around contractual terms and conditions, pricing, and service levels.
  • Determine and recommend alternate supply strategies to maintain site nimbleness while creating cost savings and/or supply support solutions.
  • Establish clear performance metrics for suppliers driving performance and financial responsibility. 
  • Lead strategic sourcing team with the goal of development, empowering and executing company initiatives
  • Direct business reviews on performance, opportunities and identify corrective action plans where improvements are needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiative to improve site and company COGS

Education, Experience & Skills

•    Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field required. MBA preferred.
•    Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in the sourcing field, experience support a multi-site company preferred.
•    Integrity, honesty and the drive to do what's best for the business.
•    Experience in leading high-performing teams
•    Demonstrated experience in successfully working in a matrixed environment
•    Must have solid understanding and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems 
•    Successfully have led multi-site organization
•    7+ years' experience managing staff in a supply chain organization
•    Strong communication skills: oral/written and listening
•    Occasional travel required (20-30%)

 

Physical/Mental Requirements 
Type/keyboard, visual acuity, good eye/hand coordination, stand, walk, sit, twist/turn, reach outward, reach above shoulder, hand dexterity, bend, squat/keel, lift carry 10lbs, push/pull 10lb. Use phone, fax, copier, and computer.  Organize/coordinate, analyze/interpret, problem solve, make decisions, supervise, plan, communicate, prepare written communications, and prepare transaction documents.  Work around noise above conversation level, multiple locations, restricted access laboratory.
