Job Details

We develop complex humanized mouse models with the goal of understanding basic biology, modeling human disease, and selecting for alternative antibody-based drug formats. We are seeking an experienced molecular biologist with a solid background in immunology to drive innovative technology development in areas such as genomic modification and antibody engineering.

As a Scientist – Molecular Immunologist, a typical day might include:

  • Keeping up with current literature and designing strategies to test novel genome engineering approaches including CRISPR-based technologies, BAC recombineering, and large-fragment capture

  • Contributing to novel antibody-based drug format development through structure-based design

  • Designing and implementing NGS methods, and analyzing data sets independently or in collaboration with in-house bioinformaticians

  • Training and mentoring Research Associates to implement new technologies

  • Communicating new technologies with scientists across Technology Development Centers

  • Presenting data internally and externally, and publishing peer-review publications

This role might be for you if:

  • You enjoy “tinkering” with new technologies and are skilled at optimizing and troubleshooting

  • You have the ability to initiate new avenues of research

  • You have the ability to lead and mentor a team

  • You have strong organizational, writing, and presentation skills

To be considered for this opportunity you must possess a PhD in immunology, molecular biology, or related fields with 0-5 years postdoctoral and/or industry experience with a strong record of innovation and publication. Extensive knowledge and experience with engineering large genomic fragments, CRISPR, and mouse model generation is required. Experience with antibody engineering and/or structure-based protein design, and NGS is highly desirable. Experience with ex vivo engineering of primary cells is a plus.
