R&D Specialist - Protein Characterization

Regeneron's Protein Biochemistry Group is seeking a hardworking and highly organized R&D Specialist.  In this role you will be mainly responsible for supporting the characterization of protein reagents used in preclinical and release assays, as well as being involved in 1D/2D gel and western blot method development and testing.

• Follow standard analytical protocols and specified timeline to support protein reagent key attribute characterization.
• Maintain high-quality documentation of experimental procedures and results in a laboratory notebook per established guidelines.
• Provide timely support to internal and external collaborators and present results and reports at various meetings.
• Develop/optimize small and large format 1D/2D gel and western blot methods.
• Implement the optimized 2D gel/western blot methods to assess pAb coverage and analyze process samples for impurity clearance.

• Ability to critically analyze and troubleshoot scientific problems.
• Good scientific initiative and ability to multi-task, prioritize work and handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently but also within a collaborative team environment and have flexibility to work on changing priorities.

This role requires BS or MS in Biochemistry, Bioengineering or similar field with 3-5 years of experience with an emphasis on protein characterization techniques such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, ELISA, SEC, and CE-SDS is preferred. Experience with additional analytical techniques, such as IEF/cIEF, LC-MS, SEC-MALS, DLS, and DSC is a plus as is experience in protein purification.
