Statistical Geneticist (Pharmacogenomics)
We are looking for a Statistical Geneticist who will be responsible for performing association studies using genetic and genomic data in the support of clinical development programs. This position is part of the pharmacogenomics group responsible for developing and implementing genetic/genomic strategies across all phases of clinical development and across several therapeutic areas. This position requires frequent interactions with biostatisticians, epidemiologists and clinical scientists to advise and plan statistical data analysis. This position also requires working in concert with other members of the Regeneron Genetics Center utilizing other large cohorts, datasets and analysis tools. The position will require significant cross-functional responsibilities, communicating results and findings to key internal stakeholders and external collaborators, so an ability to communicate very clearly is required.
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
- Manage and contribute to development of pipelines for generation of and visualization of genomic data, with a focus on process automation and scalability.
- Routinely use cluster and cloud computing environments.
- Design and conduct pharmacogenomic analysis studies across data generated from multiple platforms.
- Interface with clinical teams, research scientists, statisticians, and global project teams.
- Provide statistical data interpretation and present data to internal stakeholders and project teams.
- Publish key findings and attend conferences.
To be considered for the role, you must have PhD in biostatistics, statistical genetics, or computational biology with a strong background in genetics or a PhD in genetics/molecular biology with MS in biostatistics. Strong background in statistical genetics, bioinformatics, and/or computational biology preferable. Previous experience performing genetic association studies across multiple platforms (required). Expertise working with and manipulating large genomic data sets and familiarity with R programming environment. Experience in additional languages (Python, C/C++) is preferred. Expertise in developing tools for management/analysis of genomic datasets. Experience in clinical development desirable. Ability to work well in a team environment. Excellent presentation and communication skills (essential).
