Associate Director, Procurement Category Management R&D

The Associate Director; Category Management is a key role within the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization. The position will develop & own the Global Category Management strategy within Research and Development for clinical services (includes but is not limited to IRT, Imaging, eCOA, ECG). You will lead the Supplier Management Program for the category including risk, performance, relationship, and supplier development pillars with collective input from the individual market sourcing managers. This requires direct experience and the capability to develop strategies which anticipate future global business requirements in a sophisticated and growing global organization.  

As a Category Manager, a typical day might include the following:

• Leading and/or working with the SS&P team and category business leaders to tackle issues of a diverse scope within current & future business trends

• Advising Regeneron global teams on supply market dynamics and leading practices which maximize value, minimize risk, and ensure quality & cost effectiveness.  

• Developing and executing the Category Management strategies to optimize value from the global supply base

• Supervising sourcing programs - proposals, negotiating contracts, etc.. Ensuring contract objectives are delivered (savings, SLAs, etc.) and are compliant with pricing agreements and internal policies/procedures

• Leading global supplier relationships and ensuring performance and accountability are tracked/improved

• Developing and executing procurement related programs to optimize value

• Developing and owning the framework negotiation plan for the global category strategy using a leader mastery level skill set

To be considered for this position you must have a bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience within Procurement, Strategic Sourcing including Category Management experience. Experience in R & D, laboratory supplies and consumables, contract research services, and / or research collaborations required. The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is also required.
