Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will join our state-of-the-art Amgen Capability Center. We are in search of a leader that will help foster an environment of continuous improvement, by applying agile concepts and thinking creatively to build, maintain, and improve our solutions with a focus on business value, applications reliability and user experience.

As a member of the ERP Leadership Team, the ERP Enterprise Architect will lead a team of SAP solutions architects in business processes in Finance and Supply Chain, e.g. Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Plan-to-Stock, Serialization, and Logistics; represent the ERP Platform at the Enterprise Architecture Review Board, be accountable for the advancement of Amgens ERP technology architecture using industry-leading SAP platforms, including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS, Enterprise Data Lake, Enterprise Data Fabric and DevOps framework. This role will proactively lead the collaboration and engagement with the IS business-facing functions, business process teams, and ERP build and operations teams, in delivering solutions based on business and industry best practices and will help drive the Global ERP solution roadmap within Amgen.

We align technology strategies and solutions to business imperatives, optimize the value of our technology investments and govern IT architecture standards and practices across the data, application, integration and infrastructure layers; creating value for our staff, our business partners, our shareholders and most importantly our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to a talented staff of SAP solution architects with focus on career development, engagement with partners, and capacity planning and prioritization

  • Representative of Global ERP at the IS Enterprise Architecture Review Board, with accountability of the alignment of ERP solutions with best practices and Amgens City Planning technology ecosystem

  • Maintain an effective relationship with strategic IS suppliers of software and services

  • Collaborate with business partners and delivery teams to ensure convert functional requirements into scalable, efficient and supportable solutions, with an emphasis on SAP technologies, including cloud infrastructure, connected cloud applications and data lake architectures

  • Provide detailed technical specifications and guidance to engineers, developers and other product team members

  • Create roadmaps for ERP product teams for continuous improvement, technology enhancements and retirement of technical debt

  • Provide guidance and troubleshooting support for complex production incidents

  • Advocate of the ERP vision in the organization with influencing and leadership skills in order to lead people to achieve expected business outcomes

  • System owner of business solutions in ERP

  • Effectively communicate with senior leadership and peers, including strong writing skills to draft and publish technical documentation, SOPs, architectural specifications, and business cases

  • This position involves working with a global network of technology and business partners and may require travel up to 10%

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Masters degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

And

2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Service Ownership of an ERP application, preferably SAP S/4HANA, familiarity with IS standards/policies and Service Management tools and processes, GMP and SOX compliance

  • 7 or more years of experience in the deploying and supporting of complex solutions in SAP technologies

  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize, lead, and direct multi-functional teams to address and solve technical and business issues

  • Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment.

  • High learning agility, problem solving, creative and analytical thinking.

  • Experience in resource and performance management

  • Strong customer relationship and leadership skills

  • Management experience in all aspects of an information systems environment

  • Portfolio and project management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate or lead multiple projects and activities with meaningful priorities

  • Understand service models and prioritization based on impacts on business operations
