We’re seeking a Computational Biology Data Architect to join us in our mission to improve human health and quality of life through the development, distribution, and application of advanced computational methods!

As a member of our Data Architecture team, you’ll enable our large-scale drug discovery research by building technology solutions that focus on accessible and insightful presentation of data to Schrödinger scientists. You’ll play a central role in constructing a cohesive data ecosystem at Schrödinger. You will also support our drug discovery efforts by collaborating with our Computational Biology, Structural Biology, Enterprise Informatics, IT, and Data Science teams to help grow our data focused efforts around *omic data acquisition and governance.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with biology-focused teams to support build out and integration of data management and visualization solutions focused on genomic data.
  • Create tooling to standardize research metadata and construct semantic knowledge bases to improve target selection and accelerate drug discovery programs. 
  • Develop and integrate new tools with our enterprise informatics platform in collaboration with other teams to provide specialized tools around the *omics space.

What you should have:

  • At least three years of relevant working experience with drug discovery research data
  • At least one year of work with data curation and integration on multi-modality genomic data (RNAseq, DNAseq, proteomics, CRISPR, single cell, etc) and *omic data files.
  • A background in data engineering or software with relational and/or graph databases, data integration, REST APIs, and web application architecture
  • Understanding of semantic web technologies such as ontologies, RDF, named entity recognition, metadata normalization
