ROLE SUMMARY
The Enterprise Platforms & Security (EP&S) team delivers the following capabilities for Pfizer. Business application platforms supporting Pfizer’s enterprise application and critical business processes. Infrastructure allowing business traffic to travel where it needs to go, internally and externally, along with the appropriate access controls. EP&S secures Pfizer's most important information assets through world class controls and protections and enables Pfizer's business results by making security an enabler and not a roadblock to achieving business results.
This position is to manage day to day reliable and accurate processing of customer orders, invoices, charge backs, allowances and all other EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) transactions that are part of the Pfizer EDI environment.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide the highest level of service for all areas of Pfizer’s global EDI services.
- Make recommendations and coordinate efforts to sustain a leading-edge environment capable of supporting industry best practices for EDI.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term solutions to production problems.
- Recommend, design, develop and implement production support administrative systems.
- Manage projects for new development. Implementation responsibilities include mapping, testing and communications set up for new EDI transactions.
- “Roll out” new trading partners into existing release/version of transactions.
- Support ad-hoc requests.
- Communicate effectively with internal clients and external customers regularly.
- Document test scripts for the developers testing.
- Develop EDI standard specifications for various transactions using Spec-Builder tool.
- Manage tool upgrades, patching, Fix-Pack installs and any such activities as recommended by software vendors.
- Monitor the Managed Service Providers for EDI production support.
- Engage the consultants working on EDI implementations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of work experience in various Information Technology areas, including EDI projects.
- Experience in EDI standards like ANSI X12, UN EDIFACT, TRADACOMS etc.
- Technical expertise in IBM Sterling B2Bi & Map Editor.
- Experience in SYNCROFY EDI Document Tracking Tool.
- Experience in trading partner communication setup using AS2 protocol and VAN (Value Added Networks)
- Knowledge of Unix, Linux, AIX OS and shell scripts
- Good interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with trading partners globally, end-users and technical personnel are required.
- The ability to lead and take a hands-on approach to handle projects, from initial business specifications to completion is essential.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- This position requires close interaction with the Pfizer Digital and all Business Units in order to provide production support to all EDI activities.
- Coordinates activities with third-party service providers to ensure smooth transfer of data between them and Pfizer.
- Works closely with external customers to set up new trading relationships and transactions.
- Closely monitors the MSP’s to ensure that they are meeting Service Levels and providing an acceptable level of contracted support.

- The role does have operational and escalation responsibilities and occasional off-hours work will be required.
