Immunology-Principal or Senior Scientist

The newly established Innovent Biologics R&D center located in Rockville, Maryland is an integral part of the strategic expansion, and will play a critical role in delivering the next generation of Innovent’s biologics products to meet the needs of patients from around the world. The Immunology group is seeking self-motivated, collaborative, and technically skilled researchers with expertise in the field of immunology who wishes to play a key role in advancing novel immunotherapy drug candidates from the discovery phase into the clinic.

Job responsibility:

1. Conduct a variety of assays to build an in-depth understanding and biological dataset surrounding the modulation of immunology by drug candidates. Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in the validation of potential new targets prior to the initiation of drug discovery efforts, as well as establishing pharmacological readouts for pipeline candidates.
2. Contribute both intellectually and experimentally as part of a multidisciplinary team, presenting data at both internal and external research meetings
3. Work alongside protein engineering team to select the most robust process for screening drug candidates.
4. Report to lab leaders regularly and make constructive suggestions.
5. Communicate with senior leaders efficiently to develop and progress pipelines rapidly.
6. Represent Innovent at conferences and present appropriate results for publications and patent applications.

Qualifications:

1. PhD with 3+ year experience in immunology research or BSc/MSc 10+ year experience (title will be commensurate with experience).
2. Strong background in human immunology. Past experience developing relevant immunological assays for drug discovery is highly desirable and for academic research is acceptable. Knowledge in antibody drug discovery and familiarity with various discovery platform is a plus.
3. Significant accomplishment in research as evidenced by previous contributions to INDs, patent applications, and/or publications.
4. Proven capability of innovative work through previous participation and leadership in complex research projects.
5. Capability of multitasking and keen awareness of timeliness in project handling and delivery.
6. Outstanding communication skills able to manage various challenging environment. Must be an excellent team-player.
7. High ethics standard and level of integrity. Commitment to work and corporate goals that will ultimately contribute to patient well-being.
