Kriya Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a talented biotech generalist attorney with 5-7 years of experience in the practice area of Life Sciences. Experience with healthcare compliance and a wide variety of contracts associated with biotech and general business dealings is required, and experience working on employment law matters, corporate governance, litigation and general internal advisory services is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have both law firm training and experience as in-house counsel.

The Senior Corporate Counsel will report to the General Counsel and be a founding member of Kriya’s Legal & Corporate Compliance (LCC) department. The LCC is a small team of business-oriented, problem-solving professionals, dedicated to collaborative, responsive and nimble support of our colleagues. We are looking for candidates with a similar ethos.

The Senior Corporate Counsel will be an experienced biotech “utility player” attorney, with a solid foundation of life sciences legal and compliance experience and a goal of developing in all aspects of a biotech/pharma generalist role. Willingness to learn about various subject matters (from both a legal and business perspective) will be highly valued, though this role requires the candidate have knowledge of biotech/pharma business, compliance and legal fundamentals gained through work experience. Specifically, experience with matters related to GMP, technical operations, early research & development and healthcare compliance is greatly preferred. The attorney filling this role must have mastered the ability to concisely and effectively convey complex analyses to busy non-attorneys.

Duties will include, for example: working directly with a wide variety of internal departments on day-to-day contract negotiation and legal advice, assisting with development of LCC and company operational and compliance polices, assisting with preparation of general corporate filings and governance matters and collaborating with the rest of the LCC to create the most agile and creative LCC department possible.

Growth and development are encouraged in the LCC department, and at Kriya generally, and as with all Legal and Compliance departments, there is much to be explored, mastered and turned into useful work product to propel the company forward.

• JD from accredited law school
• 5-7 years of combined law firm and in-house experience in life sciences practice
• Active member in good standing of at least one state bar

• Excellent verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a high volume environment while remaining detail-oriented
• Approachable and genial nature
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, legal databases and other routine legal and business programs required.
