SUMMARY:
Kriya is a next-generation gene therapy company focused on designing and developing transformative new treatments for highly prevalent and severe chronic diseases. We are seeking an Associate Engineer to support production of DNA plasmids and/or Viral Vector in Kriya’s RTP Viral Vector Core.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Perform aseptic manipulation of mammalian cell culture in the generation of adeno-associated Viral Vectors
• Perform amplification and analysis of DNA plasmids through bacterial culturing
• Perform lab tests which require the analysis of results and interpretation of methods
• Define, measure, analyze, and propose improvements to the current process and systems
• May serve as the technical expert for one or more areas of the vector manufacturing process and the supporting unit operations/process equipment
• Support lab operations, including inventory management, solution preparation, and standard lab tasks
• Maintain organization of lab supplies. Inventory, unpacking, and storing reagents and supplies
• Prepare laboratory buffers and reagents
• Follow documented procedures and thoroughly document work through data entry into electronic laboratory notebooks
• Prepare, organize, and track sample inventory during production and storage
• Perform additional lab tasks as assigned
PREFERRED SKILLS:
• Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented, with proven ability to foster strong relationships with other team members and stakeholders
• Experience working with biologics
• Experience working in a lab setting
• Experience with amplification of plasmid DNA and/or production of adeno-associated viral vectors is preferred
• Must have flexible work hours, and be willing to work outside of normal, scheduled hours; as necessary. Must be able to work alternative shift hours and weekends as required
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Science, Engineering or other related field and 0-3 years of relevant related experience
