ROLE SUMMARY
Pfizer Vaccines has one of the strongest pipelines in the industry, with multiple new products poised to come to market in the next few years. Two new childhood vaccines are in development: a next generation pneumococcal conjugate vaccine for infants and a pentavalent meningococcal vaccine for adolescents. This Consumer Lead role will be responsible for all strategy, planning and execution for the Prevnar 13 & 20 Pediatric franchise, as well as the Meningococcal franchise, which includes the in-line product Trumenba and development of a Pentavalent vaccine.
Pfizer pioneered the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV) technology and launched PREVNAR in 2000 to help protect babies against Invasive Pneumococcal Disease (IPD) and Acute Otitis Media (ear infections). PREVNAR has been the only CDC-recommended pneumococcal vaccine on the market for the past 20 years and has made significant inroads in reducing the burden of disease among our most vulnerable population: babies.
TRUMENBA is a vaccine licensed to help prevent meningitis B (Men B) in adolescents and young adults. However, Pfizer does not currently have a vaccine indicated for Men ACWY in the US. There is an opportunity to simplify the adolescent vaccination schedule, improve adherence and close equity gaps with a single new product that would cover all 5 meningitis serotypes.
The U.S. Prevnar Pediatric & Adolescent team is looking for a Consumer Lead who will not only play a key role at a critical time in the portfolio history, but also help combat vaccination hesitancy and health disparities that have resulted in significant declines in well visits and vaccinations, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Parent/Caregiver interventions are needed to drive vaccination urgency to help protect these vulnerable populations that may be at an increased risk for contracting vaccine-preventable diseases due to lower vaccination rates.
This Portfolio Lead will transform Caregiver engagement and overcome barriers to vaccination by leveraging a deep understanding of the market needs, customer insights, and interventions needed along the Caregiver-patient vaccination journey. In addition to brand-specific initiatives, the Consumer Lead will develop Consumer strategies and tactics for the portfolio that reinforce the value of well visit attendance and vaccination adherence to inspire vaccine confidence and drive series completion.
Given the dynamic market environment, we are looking for a colleague with an agile mindset who thinks beyond organizational silos and is capable and flexible to lead this business and other initiatives that may arise in line with evolving portfolio and business priorities.
