ROLE SUMMARY

The Shop Floor Engineer Vaccine Formulation positions will support projects and day to day operation of Sterile Vaccine Formulation Operations in the Vaccine Formulation Facility (VFF).

This may include product transfer projects, cost improvement projects, capital equipment installations, Right First Time initiatives, and safety and compliance driven initiatives for Drug Product Operations, as well as leading incident investigations and CAPA development and execution as the Responsible Person representing operations.

There are four positions associated with this posting. All four will work an alternative 2 on/3 off/2 on/2 off/3 on/2 off rotating schedule. Two of the positions will provide coverage from 0600-1800 and two of the positions will provide coverage from 1800-0600. Weekend and holiday work will be expected.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Identifies and implements cost savings ideas, specifically process efficiency improvements and other projects that increase equipment capacity.

· Develops and validates manufacturing processes for drug products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to production, from other sites, or within the site.

· Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables.

· Investigates deviations that occur on the manufacturing floor. Performs root-cause analysis and identifies appropriate, effective corrective actions. Implements corrective actions in conjunction with the appropriate enabling groups, i.e. engineering, maintenance, quality, validation, environmental health and safety.

· Leads technical improvement projects aimed at defect reduction, improved equipment reliability, and better equipment utilization.

· Serves as customer project manager on equipment purchases or improvements; interface closely with engineering to specify user requirements, review and approve drawings, define project scopes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field such as Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

One to three years related experience and/or training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of Sterile Pharma manufacturing, Biologic Separation operations and/or vaccine development processes.

Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel
