ROLE SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician IV performs maintenance, repair, complex trouble-shooting, redesign, and enhancement of

mechanical, electrical, and computerized systems. This person develops maintenance, PM, and calibration procedures.

The incumbent performs as a leader and technical resource for a group of level I, II or III technicians.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Trouble shoots, diagnoses and repairs machine breakdowns in a prompt, skillful manner in order to minimize machine
  • downtime.
  • Demonstrate ability to make useful recommendations regarding improved machine performance through evaluation of
  • manufacturing equipment for sensor and control applications. Designs and installs electrical sensors or control systems to
  • enhance performance.
  • Instructs other technicians in the intricacies of assigned machinery and equipment; as well as, the machine/process
  • operators in a proper operation of machinery.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and calibration of production and/or facility equipment without supervision.
  • Analyzes equipment/line problems and implement resolutions.
  • Writes and implements ECR modifications and cSCR/ECR changes.
  • Coordinates installation activities of new equipment with production and maintenance personnel
  • Creates machine control logistic software and hardware for a moderate level of complexity.
  • Generate and implement cSCR changes for machine operation improvements.
  • Conducts various inspections on plant-wide emergency preparedness systems to ensure operational and sufficient.
  • Integrates project implementation with production personnel and management to include multi-level buy in and efficient
  • scheduling. Set priorities, organizes other technicians workloads, delegate and assign responsibilities, and train other
  • technicians in areas of specialization.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • High School/GED with no less than 4 years manufacturing plant maintenance/shop experience –or- an AS/AA degree (or equivalent) in a technical field may also be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Knowledge of general trades: i.e. construction, electrical, machine shop.
  • Excellent communication skills using English language.
  • Ability to read, write, and develop preventative maintenance, calibration procedures, log book entries, work orders and to perform IGS and OGS.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory; principles of HVAC and refrigeration; methods of measurement (tool metrology) as pertains to calibration of process and facilities equipment; electrical power distribution equipment, including transformers, load centers, breakers, bus ducts, motor control centers (MCC) and lighting distribution ; and mechanical components including vari-speed drives, gearboxes, gears, bearing chains, couplings, pumps and mechanical seals.

  
 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Stand up to 8-12 hours per shift, sit for up to 2-4 hours per shift, twist at waist 10 times per hour, regularly lift up to 20.

pounds per activity 5 times per shift, occasionally lift a maximum of 50 pounds per activity 1 time per shift, walk, climb stairs, climb ladders/walk on catwalks.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

This position is for a 12 hour night shift that may require overtime and work during scheduled shutdown periods.
