Pfizer Boulder Research and Development is looking to expand its research organization that is focused on the discovery and development of small molecule drugs for Oncology. As part of this expansion, we are seeking synthetic organic chemists to join our medicinal chemistry department. The medicinal chemistry department at Pfizer Boulder R&D collaborates extensively with other research departments in Boulder, and at other Pfizer sites, to discover and develop Pfizer’s drugs of the future.
As a Senior Principal Scientist, you will play a vital role as a key contributor and/or leader of one of the medicinal chemistry teams. You will be expected to use your expertise and creativity to advance projects through key milestones.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Doctorate level degree in relevant area of science, or equivalent industrial experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Ability to scientifically challenge others in a constructive manner and demonstrates exceptional team working skills
Track record of delivering high impact contributions to medicinal chemistry projects
Expert working knowledge of organic chemistry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in mentoring and development of scientists
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to perform data analysis
Ability to safely work in a chemistry lab (standing, lifting, walking, bending)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,300 to $177,100. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
