Scientific Associate I/II (mRNA-based Vaccine Formulation)

Job Summary:

This position is a responsible for performance of mRNA-based vaccine formulation and characterization to support vaccine discovery and development.

Vaccine formulation to support vaccine development

• Performance of mRNA vaccine formulation, biophysical characterization and stability evaluation to support vaccine process development.
• Performance of mRNA vaccine and adjuvanted protein vaccine formulation to support vaccine preclinical development in animal models.

Documentation and presentation of scientific results.

• Write experimental protocols and prepare internal reports. Maintain lab notebooks.
• Collaborate with project teams, present research results and contribute to technical advancements and publications.

Lab management.

• Maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation.

Other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.

• Support other functions and other divisions when needed.

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical or Biomedical engineering

• Plus 1-3+ years of academic or pharmaceutical/biotech experience in formulation or nanoparticles

• Experience with characterizing nanoparticles such as DLS-Zeta potential measurement and fluorescence spectroscopy is required.
• Experience with lipid nanoparticle formulation or other biologics formulation is required.
• Experience with Agarose gel, Nanodrop, Osmolarity, and Endotoxin tests is preferred.
• Experience with cell-based assay is preferred.
• The ability to generate accurate and reproducible results along with multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment are required.
• Ability to work in teams and written/oral communication skills are required.
