Reporting to the Payer Outcomes Research (POR) Director, the POR Senior Manager is accountable for executing on the POR Book of Work, strategically aligned with the Asset Strategy Lead (ASL) and the Heath Economics Outcomes Research (HEOR) Asset team, and the POR Director, for a number of assets across LCM.

The POR Book of Work comprises developing payer outcomes research studies, including patient reported outcomes, clinical outcomes, indirect treatment comparisons and meta-analyses, real-world evidence and predictive analytics.

This successful candidate will design and execute global-impact and United States local-impact payer outcomes research studies.

This position involves both execution of deliverables and overseeing POR managers.

This role is global with tactical delivery and some managerial responsibilities. The Senior Manager will impart a deep understanding of payer outcomes research studies and HTA requirements to provide support to the ASL, top 10 countries and the HEOR Asset Teams (HAT). The POR Senior Manager is responsible to ensure the POR Book of Work is strategically aligned with the ASL via the GAT and co-created with the top 10 markets, with the guidance from the POR Director.

The POR Senior Manager will provide support to the POR Director to engage with vendors and specialists to validate HEOR strategy and technical approach.

The POR Senior Manager's main responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining strong working relationships with lead markets, particularly the United States

  • Oversight of the POR Managers

  • Facilitation of alignment on critical aspects of payer outcomes research studies

  • Support GVD and core models governance

  • Work with the POR Director to translate operational objectives into concrete results via POR project plan

This position can be conducted remotely or from US Headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. Relocation benefits will be provided to selected candidate interested in relocating to CA.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree with 2 years of access and payer experience

OR

Master's degree with 6 years of access and payer experience

OR

Bachelor's degree with 8 years of access and payer experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate degree or experience in academic research

  • 2+ years of managerial experience directly mentoring people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

  • Experience developing payer outcomes research studies, including patient reported outcomes, clinical outcomes, indirect treatment comparisons and meta-analyses, real-world evidence and predictive analytics

  • Experience writing research protocols

  • Technical understanding of HTA requirements

  • Experience in influencing Integrated Access Strategy with a HEOR lens

  • Ability to influence a team to deliver results

  • Health Economics training (on the job or academic)

  • Experience in co-creation of HTA & GVD content with countries

  • Experience in economic modeling

  • Experience in Cardio-Metabolic

  • Experience in the United States market

  • Experience working with customers and colleagues based in different time zones

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Experience with Amgen's commercialization process, teams, and working practices

  • Excellent interpersonal and soft skills

  • Understanding of Clinical Development Process and Regulatory evidence needs

  • Working independently on key projects to deliver in time
