Role Description

Xeljanz is the leading JAK inhibitor in the $30B autoimmune category. As the first and only JAK with 4 approved indications (a 5th is expected this fall), Xeljanz remains a growth driver for Pfizer. In 2020, Xeljanz grew 33% faster than the Advanced Therapy market and we expect growth to accelerate in 2021 despite increased competition and rapidly evolving market dynamics. 

The Director, HCP Rheumatology (RHU) Marketing Lead, US XELJANZ will be empowered to shape and implement the short- and long-term brand strategy for XELJANZ in Rheumatology, working closely with US and Global commercial leads and cross functional teams to maximize value and drive continued revenue growth. This colleague will lead the XELJANZ Rheumatology brand personal promotion and campaign development.  The incumbent will develop impactful, differentiating brand messaging and work collaboratively with US medical affairs to ensure timely and relevant content for the XELJANZ field sales team delivery to HCPs, as well as collaborating with Global Rheumatology marketing colleagues to execute Globally-developed selling materials.  This colleague will also serve as the launch lead for new Rheumatology indications, leading all launch preparation, message development, and Field Sales training efforts. Additionally, the HCP Marketing Director will have cross functional leadership roles as RHU RC captain.

The HCP Marketing Director will have an instrumental leadership and mentorship role, serving as a dotted line manager to RHU interns, secondments, MBA Rotational colleagues, and other new marketers on the team. 

This position will report to the Sr. Director, Rheumatology Team Lead, US XELJANZ.

  

Responsibilities

Develop and execute short- and long-term Rheumatology strategies and tactics for the brand, maximizing brand value by driving continued revenue growth and increased use in appropriate patients across Rheumatology indications. Deliver against financial expectations for the Rheumatology indications Generate market and customer insights to shape critical strategic imperatives and gather cross-functional insight to inform short- and long-term RHU strategy.  Develop strong cross-functional collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to enable efficient execution of brand strategy. Develop and execute XELJANZ RHU HCP personal promotion and tactics including core visual aids, iRep, and digital flashcards.  Contribute to annual strategic and tactical operating plans. Identify external market and competitive trends and develop appropriate strategies to address issues as they arise. Drive strong collaboration with global teams by ensuring collaborative development and execution of HCP strategies and tactics to optimize Glballyal operating model.  Serve as mentor and leader for new marketers. Lead the development and implementation of innovative tactics, working closely with the Digital Transformation lead to develop omnichannel communication that will strengthen brand value proposition and drive differentiation. Work with the Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) team to lead Gastroenterology HCP market research. Lead planning and execution of US XELJANZ national sales meetings, key field sales training sessions (Power Hours), and the launch of new campaigns, messaging, and strategy, in collaboration with UC HCP marketing counterpart, sales, and I&I brands. Lead Rheumatology print media strategy, content execution, and management of budget. Lead integration of all payer and XELSOURCE access integration messaging into HCP materials Lead the effective and efficient operation of RC, as RC captain including defining/clarifying issues, prioritizing and moving agenda forward, and proposing resolutions. Manage HCP promotion budget

  

Qualifications

Experience - Required

  • 10 years of demonstrated experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years marketing experience
  • Minimum 2 years HCP marketing experience
  • Extensive cross-functional leadership experience 
  • Commercial strategy/market development experience
  •  Proven track record in managing multiple brands and/or portfolio of products
  •  Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams and professional agencies required
  •  Successful track record in navigating complex projects and influencing cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • BA required; MBA preferred

Experience – Preferred

  • 15+ years of professional experience
  • 8 – 10 years of broad pharmaceutical experience
  • Prior ownership of the development and execution of marketing strategies and tactics for various audiences (healthcare provider, payor, consumer, etc.) is preferred  
  •  MBA
