What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world! In this vital role you will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision and technical expertise to the Amgen Manufacturing Limited (AML) Supply Chain team in support of successfully completing organizational objectives. Provides broad operational leadership, incorporating and aligning multi-functional objectives. Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to organizational policies and procedures. Accomplish results through managers or experienced high-level specialists in the site. Acts as an advisor to supervisors or staff members to meet schedules and resolve technical or operational problems. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly participates and leads company-wide projects
  • Influences the development of overall objectives and long-range goals of the department, including departmental budgets and spend
  • Participates in establishing vision for functional area and/or department
  • Links and aligns department goals with strategic goals of the site and Amgen in entirety
  • Participates on or leads global teams as subject matter authority for site or function
  • Ensures all work is completed within scheduled timeframes and quality standards with minimal disruption and in compliance with all cGMP guidelines and Amgen procedures
  • Performs management responsibilities associated to development, coaching, mentorship as well as the performance evaluation of direct reports
  • Performs other management responsibilities such as the development and management of the area budget
  • Ensures an ongoing organizational structure capable of adapting to changing business needs

Doctorate degree 6 years of Supply Chain support experience

OR

Masters degree and 10 years of Supply Chain support experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 12 years of Supply Chain support experience

And

6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.

Beyond that, preferred qualifications are:
  • Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Material Management, and/or Industrial Engineering educational background
  • 8+ years of Supply Chain Management
  • Operational Excellence experience in regulated industry with a continuous improvement mentality
  • Experience with regulated environments/industry (i.e. cGMP, GDP OSHA)
  • Significant understanding of ERP-SAP, Rapid Response and supply chain systems
  • Proficient user of software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Smart sheet, Skype, Tableau)
  • Negotiating, Budgeting, Goal setting, Resource Planning, Change Management and Decision-Making skills
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Experience working in a global environment, ability to collaborate closely/communicate effectively and present effectively at different management levels
  • Availability for international business trips and to support non-standard shift organization with the flexibility to work extended hours
  • Knowledge of staff relations with the ability to coach mentors and counsel staff when needed
  • Knowledge of basic compensation system practices and methodologies
  • Knowledge or exposure to Foreign Trade Zones
